Litchfield by the Sea

Litchfield by the Sea is a private community off HWY 17 in Pawleys Island. Behind the gated entrance is a coastal paradise along the Atlantic Ocean, as it is nestled between the beach and the beautiful Lowcountry marshlands. Enjoy the sand between your toes, walk around the wildlife trail, or take part in any of the available amenities, as there is never a boring moment within this resort style complex. This is a great option if you want to set aside a few weeks out of the year for you to vacation to the wonderful Pawleys Island area. 

Beach, Lakes and Marshland

It goes without saying that the South Carolina coastline is simply beautiful. Living in LBTS gives you that and more. As a private and gated community, you have year-round beach access that is not available to the public. You’ll be able to watch the sunrise over the calm ocean and then watch it set back across the salt marshes of Litchfield. In and around the salty creeks live many different and charming creatures, from fish, to crabs, to birds, even sea otters.

Take a seat on one of the benches overlooking the grassy marsh and enjoy the abundance of wildlife. Feel free to go crabbing, fishing, or throw a cast net for bait to fish with later. However, the water access doesn’t stop there, as many freshwater lakes and ponds are scattered throughout LBTS and are host to many creatures as well, such as alligators, turtles, and herons. 

Tennis & Pool

LBTS has multiple tennis courts available for residents and their guests to use. Just steps off the beach, enjoy the cool ocean breeze as you battle it out with friends and family. 

There are multiple pool decks throughout LBTS. Most condominiums have their own just at the base of the building. There’s even lazy rivers and other water park style attractions. A few even look out over the ocean. Another community pool is located in the River Club just across HWY 17, where all LBTS homeowners are allowed to go and use the pool. All pool decks are incredibly well maintained and provides any relief from the salty ocean to refresh with fresh water.
