Holiday 2015 Events in Pawleys Island
It's that time of the year! The holidays are here and, in Pawleys Island, everyone is taking notice. With all of the festive cheer in the air, there are tons of fun activities going on in the area to celebrate.
Here is a list of holiday events going on in Pawleys Island:
Multiple Dates
Now through January 3rd, Brookgreen Gardens is hosting an exhibit featuring period Christmas trees, model trains, and more. This exhibit is free with regular admission.
Everyone’s favorite event is back! Witness Brookgreen Gardens illuminated with thousands of Christmas lights. This event will take place December 10-12 and 17-20 from 3-10 p.m. Admission is $18 for adults and $10 for children ages 4-12.
On Saturdays through December 19th, All 4 Paws is hosting an event where you can have your pet’s picture taken with Santa Claus. This event will take place on Saturdays from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. and will benefit the animal rescue. For an appointment, call 843-237-7297.
Come take a tour of the Kaminski House Museum while it is decorated for the holidays! Candlelit tours will take place December 10th and 17th from 5-7 p.m. This will cost $5 for adults, $3 for youth, and free for ages 10 and under. There are also daily tours available at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. These tours cost $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, and children 5 and younger are free.
December 10th
Third-graders at Waccamaw Elementary School will be performing their musical rendition of “The Christmas Carol” at 6:30 p.m. This event is free, but the school asks guests to bring canned food donations.
Georgetown Library is hosting a series of free family-friendly movie showings. The movie showing on December 10th is “White Christmas” which will begin at 6 p.m.
The Spirit of the Holidays Festival will feature a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. Along with a visit from Jolly Ol’ St. Nick, visitors will enjoy a marshmallow roast, a bear-building station, and other festive activities. This event will take place in Downtown Pawleys from 4-7 p.m.
December 11th
Garden City Chapel is hosting a worship and concert to benefit the victims of the floods that happened in October. This event will be hosted by Dove Award winner Travis Cottrell. A $20 donation from each guest will go to Black River United Way. Tickets may be bought at Lee’s Inlet Apothecary, Harvest Commons, or here. The event will begin at 7 p.m.
December 12th
Students at the Litchfield Dance Arts Academy will be putting on a holiday performance at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults.
December 13th
The Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church will be hosting an evening of worship with the music ministry. This event will begin at 5 p.m. and all visitors are welcome.
December 14th
The second installment of Christmas at the Movies will feature the original “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” as well as “A Christmas Carol” featuring Jim Carrey. These films will be shown at the Georgetown Library from 4 – 6:30 p.m.
December 15th
The Pawleys Island Concert Band, under the baton of Carson Turner, will be performing a special Christmas concert. This event will be held at the Pawleys Island Community Church at 7 p.m. and is free.
December 17th
Georgetown Library will be offering a free showing of the movie “Miracle on 34th Street” at 6 p.m.
